Fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam and one of the greatest prescriptions of religion. The holy month of Ramadan is not only an opportunity to get closer to God and deserve his forgiveness. It is a real school of life and an unparalleled opportunity to change your eating habits and maintain good health.

At the end of the blessed month, eating habits change completely. Some people tend to eat fatty and sugary foods at the expense of vegetables, fruits and dietary fiber. A habit that is likely to have adverse health effects.

Practical advice

It is important to eat healthy and reasonably all year long, especially during fasting. Keeping moderate portions and eating quality products first and foremost is the best way to keep fit.
You should know that eating abundantly can harm your body and you lose all your good energy during the day.

One of the most important rules to follow in the holy month is to eat healthy and reasonably. It is important to eat balanced meals that include at least one food from each food group (fruits, vegetables, seeds, dairy products and essential fats). Include mostly whole grains and high fiber foods such as pasta and whole grain breads, lentils and cereals.
Salads, cooked vegetables and fresh fruit should always be on your table. This is one of the best solutions to fill the lack of water and have additional fiber input.

Being a fat, cheese should be consumed with moderation in the month of Ramadan. Opt for lean meats, chicken and fish. Always opt for grilling as it is much more beneficial for health.
Avoid fries. Sweet foods and drinks are to be banned too. They can make you gain weight and cause an imbalance in your metabolism.
Be sure to structure food intake around 3 meals a day: breakfast, or "Souhour", lunch or breaking fast and dinner, usually taken 2 or 3 hours after breaking the fast.

Souhour

This is an important part of the daily food intake, must be balanced and healthy to avoid the feeling of hunger for a good part of the day. Take a full meal. Opt for slow-digesting foods such as bread, pasta and starchy foods, foods rich in protein (meat, fish, etc.) and dairy products rich in calcium and mineral salts.
Avoid salty and spicy foods. Do not just drink water. Drinking liters and liters will not help you stay hydrated during the hours of fasting. Limit caffeine.

Break the fast

It must not be excessive so as to avoid the feeling of heaviness. It is always recommended to break the fast with a sweet food. Dates are excellent in this case. They help regulate blood sugar in your body and prepare your stomach to digest the rest of the diet.
Soup should always be on the table throughout the month of Ramadan. It helps the stomach to gently receive food after a day of fasting.

Dinner

It is also an important meal. Make sure it is well balanced, with starchy foods or legumes, a portion of meat, fish or eggs, raw or cooked vegetables and fresh fruit.
