Liposuction is any cosmetic surgical procedure consisting of the aspiration of fat deposits resistant to physical activities and diets. The belly can accumulate these hard fats, giving an unsightly abdomen in women as in men.
It is a simple procedure performed by a qualified cosmetic surgeon giving good results and a lot of benefits to the patient.
Indications of liposuction of the belly
The liposuction of the belly is indicated by the plastic surgeons when the patient presents an excess of fat cells at the level of belly and the abdomen. Liposuction does not solve the problems of obesity but it is very effective to find a flat stomach and a harmonious abdomen
Following pregnancies, the alternation of diets without results and the weight of the years; in women because of menopause and in men over 40, clumps and "buoys" of unwanted fat are formed in the abdomen.
Aesthetic operations associated
Often, this storage of fat cells or adipocytes in the abdomen is accompanied by muscle relaxation or skin damage such as stretch marks.
In these cases, the cosmetic surgeon suggests that his patients associate a small facelift of the abdomen or a repair of the abdominal strap along with the liposuction, it is the abdominoplasty and / or the abdominal dermolipectomy, according to the cases, associated with liposuction.
Preoperative consultations
During the first consultation, the cosmetic surgeon examines the condition of the patient's belly; volume of the fat to extract, elasticity of the skin, area of intervention and tells him about the progress of the act, the expected result and any postoperative pain and edema.
The surgeon gives the patient at least 15 days of reflection, following this, he prescribes a pre-operative assessment (biological and radiological). A consultation with the anesthetist is required 48 hours before the act.
The course of liposuction of the belly
Liposuction in the belly area is in the aspiration of excess abdominal fat by small cannulas (3 to 4 mm) introduced under the skin by small incisions at the level of the navel, the crease of the groin or pubis so that the minimal scars remain invisible.
Depending on the mass of fat to be aspirated, the procedure is performed under general or local anesthesia. It is often done on an outpatient basis and lasts between 30 and 60 minutes.
After the procedure, the patient wears a compression band on the operated area for 24 hours and an abdominal sheath 2 to 4 weeks to reduce edema and bruising (bruises). The stitches are absorbable and the patient is put under analgesic.
A graceful abdomen forever
The final result is obtained after 6 months, the patient finds a flat stomach and harmonious abdomen. Patients are encouraged to follow a healthy lifestyle (sport, diet ...) to maintain the new figure.
